Responsible Sourcing

Each of our snacks blends natural goodness with sustainability and inclusivity, making purposeful choices available to everyone.

We've made it our mission to ensure that our teff is responsibly sourced from outside of Ethiopia and Eritrea. This is to avoid causing price fluctuations for the local population.

Shelf Life

Teffies are best eaten fresh. As they contain no artificial preservatives, it does mean they have a slightly shorter shelf-life than other packaged snacks.

Orders will always be sent with at least 4 weeks shelf-life remaining. We recommend subscribing to receive the freshest Teffies each month.

What's teff?

Teff is our main ingredient and a gluten-free nutrient powerhouse. Teff has lots of health benefits including for gut health, athletic performance, and overall wellbeing. It's also a planet-friendly grain. Find out more in our article written with our Advisor Nutritionist, Dr Scott Robinson below.

  • Flaxseed

Just one serving provides a good
    amount of protein, fibre, and
    omega-3 fatty acids, along with
    several important vitamins and
    minerals. Flaxseed is particularly
high in thiamine, a B vitamin that
plays a key role in energy metabolism as well as cell function.
It is also a great source of copper,
which helps with brain development, immune health, and
iron metabolism. Flaxseed is rich in
    lignans, which are plant compounds
that have been studied for their
    potent cancer-fighting properties.
Flaxseed is renowned for its ability
    to decrease blood pressure levels.

  • Cinnamon

Cinnamon is packed with a variety of protective antioxidants that reduce free radical damage and slow the ageing process. The antioxidants in cinnamon can help relieve inflammation, which may help lower the risk of heart disease, cancer, cognitive decline and more.
Cinnamon has been shown to reduce several of the most common risk factors for heart disease, including high cholesterol levels, high triglyceride levels and high blood pressure to keep your heart healthy and strong.

  • Dates

Dates are a rich source of protective
    plant compounds which have
antioxidant properties. These include polyphenols, carotenoids and lignans, which have been shown to help manage the risk of chronic disease. Dates are high in natural fibre and are an excellent source of vitamin C & D, which helps to maintain your skin elasticity. In addition to their vitamin and mineral content, dates are rich in health protective antioxidants.

  • Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has so many overall
health benefits. It is known to
contribute to weight loss and studies have shown it may help to improve congnitive function. Coconut oil contains fatty acids which promote fat loss, good heart health and effective brain function. It raises good cholesterol in your blood which helps in reducing heart disease.

  • Sultanas

Sultanas are a good source of iron,
    potassium and selenium. They also
contain vitamin A and some vitamin
    B. They are beneficial for high blood
pressure, fluid retention, constipation and anaemia. Sultanas are also a great form of energy as they are a very nutrient dense fruit. The sultana is packed with natural sugars which promote the efficient intake of vitamins, proteins and other nutrients into the body. The high iron and copper content of the sultana is necessary for the formation of red blood cells.

  • Orange Oil

Orange Oil has been proven to
    naturally enhance immunity and
    reduce several symptoms of
    numerous ailments. These can
    include applications to:

/ Lift your mood or reduce stress.
/ Treat skin conditions such as acne.
/ Reduce pain or inflammation and
    relieve an upset stomach.
